Whatever “this” is, and you’re struggling with it, you can do it.
Within certain parameters of course.
The parameters being of course what lies strictly between the lines of what God has sanctioned and recognized, which is His Son Jesus Christ.
Only the stubborn have an issue with that. It’s sure not because it’s too tough to understand.
John 14:12 (AMP) – “I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.”
Stubbornness and ignorance, not difficulty in execution, is the culprit here. Jesus simply says about Himself in John 6:29, “Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent [that you cleave to, trust, rely on, and have faith in His Messenger.”
Believe in Jesus. Period.
Not so bad. Right?
Well…apparently not. If it is so simple than why is there so much struggle with faith, and even among those who claim to believe in Jesus?
Let’s face it. Not only is believing in Jesus a choice we have to arrive at, but perhaps the bigger task is unlearning what we have believed.
Let’s face it. Even if you think life has been good to you up to now, you know as well as I do that you have struggled somewhere. How about if you’re my age and issues of your mortality has crept in. You find yourself lying in bed at night thinking about death and dying. Maybe you just retired and you’re wondering if you’ll live long enough to enjoy it. Who will provide for your wife and family? Especially if the 1,000 point drop in the market so far this New Year as rendered your 401K down to meager proportions. Things you never worried about you are now worrying about. You know it. I know it. God knows it. All the angels of heaven and demons in hell knows it. Satan knows it. Jesus knows it. Suddenly you are aware of a tug of war over your eternal soul. What was for years the intangibles, the mysterious, has now suddenly presented itself to you as real. What are you going to do? Jesus now becomes subject matter to contemplate.
When we speak of faith it really is that. Faith is deciding we are simply going to believe in something without all of the evidence presenting itself to our carnal satisfaction.
If you can do that then you are going to have a wonderful life in Jesus.
If you can’t then life is going to be tough.
Jesus speaks of “steadfastly” believing in Him. That’s the ultimate goal here. Those that can do that will not only benefit from His love and friendship, but He says we will actually EMULATE Him, indeed, even go beyond what He did on this earth in a short 3 1/2 years.
Imagine being a faith filled follower for 50 years or more? Can you imagine you doing more for the Kingdom collectively and accumulatively in that time? How many lives you will have impacted? Changed?
Simply grab hold of His message. Cleave to Him. Trust in Him. Rely upon Him. Have FAITH in Him.
Do that. I challenge you. See if everything about you and around you doesn’t change for the better.
Be blessed. Talk to Jesus today.
