WHEN YOU REFUSE TO SEE THE TRUTH (FATAL REJECTION)

Ever wonder why some "get it", while others struggle with it and even just plain reject it?

I'm talking about TRUTH here. The knowledge of SPIRITUAL TRUTH.

Everybody has their own version of their small claim upon truth. Not all perception of truth is truth however.

In actuality, and using the Word of God as the standard of Truth, TRUTH as defined according to God is found in the Person of Jesus Christ.

John 14:6 (AMP) – "Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me."

That is a pretty heady claim. Downright outlandish and arrogant IF it is NOT true.

That's where it heats up. This is where the crossroads of that belief reaches it's nexus. Man stands smack in the center of that dilemma and for the resolution of that issue for him he must decide.

"Is Jesus the Source of ALL TRUTH and understanding of God's plan for the human race?"

Careful. Exercise caution. Don't be too hasty in rejection. Imagine if your eternal life rested upon your decision to accept or reject Jesus.

We don't have to imagine too hard. In fact, I don't at all. I KNOW it's the TRUTH of ALL truths. Jesus IS the WAY, the TRUTH (REALITY), AND the LIFE.

Jesus spoke in parables which are stories designed to tell the truth in a way as to spark deeper interest into valuable spiritual truth He taught.

He makes an interesting statement in Matthew.

Matthew 13:12 (AMP) – "For whoever has [spiritual knowledge], to him will more be given and he will be furnished richly so that he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away."

I used to spend time in prayer and deep thought over this. I wondered why some could rise to a place of deep faith and understanding of God's Truth so easily while others not only rejected it but actually mocked it.

The above verse explains it.

When we believe in Jesus and accept Him as the Lord of our life, and we begin to contemplate and study His Truth, we are given more and more access into it spiritually as well as intellectually. In essence, it is really not much different than any other truth we seek to study about. I am not going to develop a working knowledge of quantum physics if I do not apply myself to the study of it.

Except…there is one slight difference. In my lackadaisical quest to know more about science no one is going to take away my interest.

In my acute failure to go deep in my relationship and understanding of Jesus, anything I had acquired in the way of spiritual knowledge will be taken away.

Hmmm…why is that?

Well, it's simply a way of explaining that we will become increasingly ignorant in things of God.

If you don't USE it you will LOSE it.

Let's not forget that Jesus also spoke about this "Mystery" surrounding the Truth.

Matthew 13:11 (AMP) – "And He replied to them, To you it has been given to know the secrets and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given."

We must decide if we are a "YOU" or a "THEM".

I want the Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven at my disposal. It just seems to me that it would be important to know them.

So…for me and my lifetime of seeking and discovery, it has been a fruitful endeavor and adventure. I could not fathom having that removed from my reach.

That's where I find myself at times contemplating the greater constituency of the human race exercising it's own self righteous and self aggrandizing free will to remain comfortably in the dark.

I'm Pastor Doc Lynch from Revival Life Church at 21 Executive Center Drive, New Milford, CT 06776. My life goal is to reveal the TRUTH of Jesus Christ to people. I don't want ignorance to replace TRUTH in ANYONE. I want people to be enlightened because there is a better life in that.
