Luke 21:19 (AMP) – "By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls."
The Greek word for soul here is "psychē". It is a reference to our "mind".It is also closely related to the word "psucho", or as spelled in the English "psycho".I've said before, that the battlefield of a persons soul and spirit is the mind. If the forces of hell and evil can win that, then they have the entire person, body, soul, and spirit. Or, "lock, stock, and barrel".
The devil knows how to play people.
He (or more likely his minions of various demons, devils, evil angels) will set himself against you until he wins or you defeat him.
He is able to be defeated.
In fact, the only way he holds sway over a believer in Christ, is if the believer gives him the permission to attack. Sounds funny doesn't it? Give permission. Well, while you are not exactly consciously doing so, you do it by default. He picks at your defenses until he finds a weakness. What weakness does he exploit?
Let's look at a few.
How about drugs (legal or illegal) and/or alcohol abuse.
In any event you are NOT in your right mind when you are under the influence. Remember, in the bible the Greek word we get the word "pharmacy" from (pharmakeia), means sorcery and magic arts.
'Nuff said to get the picture?
So put that stuff away and get a clear mind. How about pornography? Which in the Greek, means the "writing of harlots".
Think a demon could use that to destroy a person? Uh…yeah .How about gambling, which will ruin a family's finances? How about success, which will keep a mom or dad from home and their kids? How about distrust, suspicion, and unforgiveness?
A demon expert in this will always keep a relationship off balance and at odds.
Get the picture?
See how he works?
He is an evil master craftsman. He engineers destruction of the person and the home. Let's not forget that he will take your life if he can, by using any of the above weaknesses, or some even more creative ones. So, it's no coincidence that Jesus is saying to stand fast. Hold on. Gather yourself. Paul said it too
. Ephesians 6:13 (AMP) – "Therefore put on God's complete armor, that you may be able to resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]."
Stand your ground firmly! Your evil day of danger might just be TODAY! Everything going well right now?
Good.
Don't let your guard down.
You could walk outside and your life will change.
You could get one phone call
. You could literally be called into battle in a moments notice. How are you going to act and respond?
Tears? Fear? Tantrum? Disbelief?
Call some "Dudes I know who will get my back"?
Or will you have already been prepared, which means if you were, the flaming darts the devil had intended for your bad day gets extinguished on contact!
That's what I'm talking about!
Get preemptive on evil!
Don't wait on it, get all over it first! Stop being the tail and act like the head. This is your legacy passed to you in Christ.
It's undefeatable.
You are undefeatable in Him!
I love that fight rally song I hear on TV."I believe that we will win!" "I believe that we will win!" I do.
I believe that for every sold out to Jesus person who knows it and is continually conscious of it at all times, which is really the definition of being a BELIEVER.
So remember… we are more than conquerors today in spite of what is being thrown our way. We WILL win the TRUE LIFE! Stay with me on this. We are in this TOGETHER! Peace, Love, Joy (which the devil hates) all over you today……in HIS NAME! AMEN!
