I SEE DEAD PEOPLE

All around me. I am surrounded by DEAD people.

People DEAD in SIN. People DEAD to SIN.

The bad dead and the good dead.

Who sees this?

Well, me for starters, and every other BORN-AGAIN believer who has their eyes open (spiritually AND physically).

It takes spiritually alive people to be able to see spiritually dead people.

ONLY those who are on the good side of “spiritually dead” can see this, and even then it has to be a purposeful endeavor to do that.

The DEVIL covers his tracks well.

Here’s the thing. The GOOD DEAD are those who have DIED spiritually to SIN.  We who have accepted Jesus Christ into our lives are said to be “DEAD TO SIN”, and NOW “ALIVE TO CHRIST”. In other words, just like sin cannot effect a corpse, it cannot effect the believer. I might add here, “TRUE BELIEVER” (no posers, fakes, flip-floppers, part-timers, etc.).

Romans 6:11 (AMP) – “Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.”

OK? So spiritually sensitive people who are ALIVE IN CHRIST, now should be dead TO sin, and should be able to see the horror of those who are still dead IN sin. Thus the statement, “I SEE DEAD PEOPLE”.

Sin is every bit as destructive as any physical force that can kill the body. It is no less disturbing for a believer to walk among the living dead in sin than it is a soldier to walk a battlefield of dead corpses. And it SHOULD be that way. It is the stark daily reminder of how much we need to be showing the way in Jesus.

OK. Here’s the other side of it.

Ephesians 2:5 (AMP) – “Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved ( delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation.”

See that? “Even when we were dead”.  We were all that way before we found Jesus. He is the One who made us alive in Him. WE were ALL “dead men walking” until we accepted what Jesus did for us. Many are still dead men walking, and that is why we need to be proactively on our game in this mammoth rescue mission Jesus has charged us to undertake.

Open your eyes BELIEVER! You are SURROUNDED by DEAD PEOPLE.

DEAD MEN WALKING.

IF you are a believer today you were once one of them. You were a Dead Man Walking until Jesus made you alive in Him.

Once you were DEAD IN SIN. Now you are DEAD TO SIN!
