ARE YOU LISTENING TO BAD OR NOT LISTENING TO GOOD?

ARE YOU LISTENING TO BAD OR NOT LISTENING TO GOOD?

Maybe you're not listening to the right advice.

The RIGHT advice is ALWAYS biblical advice.

I'm talking to the believer today. We already know that the unbeliever is listening to bad advice, or no advice at all. The best condition of an unbeliever is a mess. Sorry. That's what keeps an unbeliever in Jesus an unbeliever. They think it's normal to be a mess.

It's NOT normal for the BELIEVER to be a mess. It's also NOT God's fault.

YOU are making some bad life choices. YOU are either listening to BAD advice, OR NOT listening to GOOD advice.

Talking about preachers, Paul said:

2 Peter 2:19 (AMP) – "They promise them liberty, when they themselves are the slaves of depravity and defilement—for by whatever anyone is made inferior or worse or is overcome, to that [person or thing] he is enslaved."

Enslaved by and to false promises by people who haven't got it together themselves.

"Not having it together" could mean all OUTWARD appearances seem to point to good and normal. They could even be very popular and sought after. Even world renowned. No matter. Bad preaching is still bad preaching, and lies are lies.

So…first start with what you're listening to and hearing.

It's NOT always with the preacher. Sometimes it's YOU.

Too much world will cramp the gospel right out of your life. You can't have one foot in the Kingdom and one in the world. You also cannot look back longing for what you left or what it used to be like.

2 Peter 2:20 (AMP) – "For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through [the full, personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition is worse [for them] than the first."

"They AGAIN become entangled".

Is that you? Back in the same old mess? Or at the least, no forward progress? Losing ground? Things failing left and right? Can't escape?

You're in trouble. You have NOT FULLY committed to Jesus.

How do I know this? Simple. If you did you would be further along the right path and many of your issues would be behind you.

Luke 9:62 (AMP) – "Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God."

"Not fit for the Kingdom of God."

Entangled and not fit.

Does that describe you? You'd be surprised how many people it does fit. People who have made decisions to follow Jesus.

Again, that describes more a person who has never been a believer.

If you believe in Jesus today, it should NOT describe or define you.

If it does then fix it. Jesus isn't going to make you live better for Him.

YOU have to decide who you are going to serve.

Joshua 24:15 (AMP) – "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

Your "old gods", or the Lord.

“The Other Side of the River Gods.”

I'd run heavily toward Jesus if I were you. I'd put the past in the past and the destructive stuff in the wind and start seriously trusting Jesus to do what He says He will in your life.

The problem here is that YOU must allow Him to.

If you take a good hard look at your life up to now and your present situation, you will find that anything wrong here is YOU'RE own doing and failure. Jesus can work with failure and bad situations. He can't work with contrariness.

I'm Pastor Doc Lynch from Revival Life Church, 21 Executive Center Drive, New Milford, CT 06776. I'd love the opportunity to help you work it out. Whether you are a believer who has been the victim of years of spiritual abuse and you are no better off now than you were when you got saved years ago, or if you are a new believer who just can't seem to grab hold of the truth with any consistency. Jesus and the proper teaching of the Word can fix all of that. We have Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m. There are answers and solutions if you are willing to take the steps.

Be blessed today! I'm praying for you this morning.

Be REVIVED!
