The Word of God is a book of spiritual nourishment.
It’s meant to feed the soul and spirit and nurture growth in Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven on earth.
I see way too much starvation. Too much robbing the Body of Christ from necessary spiritual nutrients that when turned loose transform the worst of earths degradation and dregs into highly functioning Gracegivers, instead of self absorbed angry Gracekillers.
Entire churches and denominations are churning out lawyers looking to convict man of their shortcomings instead of lovers of souls who want them to join with the Lifegiver.
Legal is as Legal does.
How you read the Word and interpret it will dictate how you operate in the Kingdom dynamic.
See an angry hateful God? Then you will be an angry hateful follower.
See a God who lives sharply by an unbending 10 laws etched in stone, then you will be a rigid, unbending legalist caught up in a Law (which incidentally, has been set aside by Jesus and fulfilled in Him).
See a God who plays Whack-A-Mole with the human race, then guess what? Yup. That becomes you.
Gracekiller.
Jesus didn’t cotton to the Gracekillers.
Luke 11:46 (AMP) – But He said, Woe to you, the lawyers, also! For you load men with oppressive burdens hard to bear, and you do not personally [even gently] touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
See, the Gracekillers will point out the shortcomings of the Church and the people, but they won’t do a blessed thing about it. They will tell you what to do and not think it applies to themselves.
They spend way too much time in the Old Testament, particulary in the “Do’s/Don’t Do’s” section.
Legal is as Legal does.
We are not Lawyers/Pharisees/Legalists/Scribes.
WE are people and purveyors of Grace. We don’t feel we need to have to mind man’s business. We point Him to the One Who is best suited for that. Jesus.
It’s all Jesus. In Him everything for us to live successfully pleasing to Him here in the Kingdom on earth is found.
The Legalist will complicate that and blur the lines so badly that Gracekilling can seem like an acceptable occupation in the Word.
Hebrews 8:13 (AMP) – When God speaks of a new [covenant or agreement], He makes the first one obsolete (out of use). And what is obsolete (out of use and annulled because of age) is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether.
The New Covenant established in Jesus Christ has been installed. It’s all Jesus now. Add nothing.
